Excellent dining experience!
by sharopooks
We enjoyed an amazing dinner here during a recent vacation to Hood River. Their motto here is "Extremely comfortable Italian," & they lived up to that, serving delicious food in a nice, elegant yet casual & cozy atmosphere. Lauren, our hostess/server was exceptionally friendly and very knowledgable about the wines, food ingredients and preparation. She seemed to be the only one there besides the chef yet she waited on us, on all the other tables and seated people cheerfully & effortlessly. I enjoyed a fabulous rose wine, salad & a delicious salmon in dill cream sauce special with mashed potatoes; it was all so yummy! My husband's food was great too. Sadly we had no room for dessert. Highly recommended - we will definitely return the next time we're in the area!!
- Pros: ALL THE FOOD (delicious, fresh, great selection), service, ambience
- Cons: We live outta state!
Big-city service and style for a small-town price.

In Short
This Hood River favorite has created an inviting subterranean setting with warm, golden lighting and spacious seating. Continental options, leaning toward Italy, are buttressed by an impressive, well-priced wine list. The signature roasted-garlic and brie soup is a rich broth swirling with deep flavors and a high note of brie. The scampi Brasserie, features big, sweet shrimp in a simple sauce of garlic butter, pepper flakes, fennel and red peppers.

Nothing was in need of improvement. The wines were remarkable and reasonably priced. The Ravioli was to die for. The Scampi was incredible. Service was wonderful. We had no reservations and were seated within a few minutes!

Great service and food. An underground wine cellar with great wine prices and atmosphere. We love it everytime we go to Hood River.
