A sad sad excuse for service

I don't know where to begin. This place is deceptive. It looks cool when you walk in, it has that quaint cozy feeling to it, but then the reality hits you as soon as the wait staff opens their mouth and it just goes down hill from there.The wait person who served us was neither warm nor pleasant, and frankly by the time we left I truly believed that this person could benefit from some serious therapy for their obvious anger issues. The whole experience was a little passive aggressive to say the least . I mean do you talk to people rudely and then expect it to be OK? Is this how servers treat patrons that they rely on for tips? Really it was just bizarre. We sat wondering what we had done to make this young lady hate us.

Now lets talk about the food. I have two words for the food; expensive &......well ...awful. There's a neon sign on the place that says "Best Pizza". I think not. We got the Bonneville pizza and it was not nearly as good as it had sounded on paper. I really wanted it to be so much more and to read the menu, you would think it would be, but ...lets just say I have had better pizza (and better service) at Little Caesar's. Suffice it to say quality is not their middle name. After we finished eating I went across the street to the store to get some supplies. I mentioned my experience to a local gentlemen who proceeded to laugh at me. He said he could've predicted the whole experience. He said the locals don't patronize the place because they (the owners)were a little hostile to the local populous. What a shocker.

I guess if I had read the prior reviews on Citysearch I would have been warned, so heed my warning, if you're interested in good food and/or good service, this is not a good place to eat.

Poor , poor food

Don't stop at any restaurants in Cascade Locks, especially the Pacific Crest Pub, or the Charburger!

The Pacific Crest Pub looks fun, but they don't deliver on the quality or quantity of food. I got a canned chicken asian salad, with poor taste and little or no dressing, and old cabbage. Hubby tried a reuben, that consisted of 2 slices of cold bread, literally a squirt of maio and a tablespoon of sauerkraut, and meat in the center of the sandwich, not reaching the outer edges of the bread. Icky! For a first time tourist, that is all it will be!

NIce place to grab a bite, when taking a break from a hike.

Like most I head out to the Columbia Gorge to hike and sightsee, but it’s always nice to find a spot to grab a bite to eat. The menu at the Pacific Crest Pub is your basic restaurant fare like sandwiches, burgers, pizza and other entrees. Many have a gorge theme to them like a pizza with smoked salmon that I had, it sounds strange but I found it to be really tasty.

The pub itself had a rustic quality to it but was well kept. I liked that there was a main eating area that was well suited for a family meal and a back area with some lotto games and a back bar if you wanted. I was surprised to read about complaints about the staff, as they seemed pleasant enough to me. In any case I would recommend giving the Pacific Crest Pub a try if you find yourself needing to take a quick break from the beautiful gorge.
